Scientific name
Pholidoptera griseoaptera

Identification
10-20 mm long (+10 mm ovipositor). Always brown in colouration, ranging in tone from grey brown to dark brown. Prominent yellow or yellow-green underside. Very short wings.

Song
High pitched short chirps, repeated irregularly. May sing throughout the day including dusk.

Habitat
Only recorded in D&G at coastal locations, amongst coarse scrubby vegetation on south-facing slopes.

Local status
Only recorded in a few coastal locations.
