SWSEIC currently employs two members of staff.
Aisling moved to Ayrshire from the east coast of Scotland in October 2016 to take up the position as the Where’s Wildlife in Ayrshire project officer. She graduated with an Msc in Environmental Protection and Management from the University of Edinburgh in 2011. Since then she has worked as a lifeguard, before volunteering on anti-litter campaigns and securing the role the Green Flag award officer with Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful. She moved on to a 6 month volunteering position with the RSPB in Northern Ireland, before moving back to Scotland in 2015 to take up a job as an upland ecologist.
Mark was appointed as the Centre Manager of DGERC when it was established in 2004 and has overseen the operation of the Centre ever since. He graduated from the University of Hertfordshire and worked for 11 years as the National Organiser of the Wetland Bird Survey (WeBS) Core Counts at the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust in Slimbridge. As well as an interest in birds, Mark is a keen butterfly and dragonfly enthusiast and through the work of the Centre has a broad knowledge of wildlife in Dumfries & Galloway.
