Dragonfly Workshop at WWT Caerlaverock

WWT Caerlaverock

Learn how to recognise the common damselflies and dragonflies found in SW Scotland. The event will be led by Mark Pollitt (SWSEIC Manager).

We will begin indoors, looking at dragonfly biology and key ID features of our local species. Then we will head out into the WWT Caerlaverock reserve to find adult dragonflies. Weather permitting, there should be an opportunity to see several common species at close range and learn key identification features in the field. The day will be suitable for beginners and improvers – no previous knowledge or experience necessary.

The extent of the outdoor activities will be weather dependent.

Places are limited and booking is essential through wwt.org.uk/caerlaverock

This event is part of the Wetland Safari Weekend at WWT Caerlaverock.

The Dragonfly Workshop is free but normal WWT Caerlaverock admission charges apply (WWT members free).
