NPMS workshop

Kirroughtree

This workshop will provide an introduction to the National Plant monitoring Scheme (NPMS). We will look at the aims of the scheme, and how the scheme works both in theory and in practice. We will also cover some basic plant ID skills. There will be a morning indoor session followed by a site visit and practical session in the afternoon where we will look at how to set up survey plots and practise some of our ID skills.

The event will involve walking and exploring away from the main tracks and paths and whilst we will not be walking long distances partcipants should have a reasonable degree of fitness to explore a range of habitats. Strong footwear (walking boots/wellies) and appropriate outdoor clothing will be required. Refreshments will be provided but participants should bring their own pack lunch.

This event is being run in partnership with the NPMS and the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere.
