Bumblebee ID and survey workshop

Join Bumblebee Conservation Trust’s Surveys and GIS Officer Helen Dickinson, for a bumblebee identification and survey training day. Discover all about bumblebee ecology and details of the national recording scheme for bumblebees, BeeWalk. We will look at the key identification features of our common bumblebee species and find out how you can directly help our conservation activities by surveying for bumblebees in your local area. The day will comprise of an indoor workshop session in the morning and weather permitting time outside in the afternoon putting your new identification skills into practice, catching and identifying bumblebees at Eskrigg Nature Reserve (car share to get to the reserve). The national recording scheme has very few transects in south west Scotland so come along and find out how you can help to change this!
This workshop is free but donations to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust would be most welcome to help cover out costs. Places are limited so please click here to book.
Please bring a packed lunch or money to by lunch locally, tea, coffee and biscuits provided. Please bring suitable outdoor clothing.
