Peter Norman

Peter joined SWSEIC as a part-time Project Officer in December 2018 with over 30 years’ experience in the environmental field. From 2001 until 2018, he was employed by the Council as the Biodiversity Officer for Dumfries & Galloway, during which time he wrote and/or edited two editions of the Local Biodiversity Action Plan and was involved in many associated projects, including setting up DGERC, forerunner of SWSEIC. Previous to that he worked as a Countryside Officer or a Ranger with the National Trust for Scotland and various other environmental organisations. He describes himself a generalist, rather than a specialist in any one area, with interests ranging from birds, moths and fungi through to habitat and landscape history.
