Vincent Wildlife Trust National Polecat Survey
VWT’s National Polecat Survey
Vincent Wildlife Trust (VWT), a mammal research and conservation charity, is appealing to members of the public for sightings of polecats for its fourth National Polecat Survey. A member of the mustelid family, the polecat is a nocturnal, solitary mammal that leaves few field signs, and is bouncing back following historical persecution and decline.
If you see a polecat in 2024 or 2025, VWT would like to hear from you. To take part in our survey please submit sightings of polecats to us at enquiries@vwt.org.uk along with the location (grid reference) and any photographs/videos you have captured. Sightings can also be submitted through the wildlife recording app iNaturalist (National Polecat Survey 2024-2025 · iNaturalist), on social media or over the phone: 01531 636441.
