Northern Brown Argus survey training day
Carrick
Butterfly Conservation Scotland are running a training day for local volunteers keen to help survey and monitor the Northern Brown Argus butterfly at Carrick near Gatefouse of Fleet on 25th July. The Northern Brown Argus is an uncommon butterfly in D&G and is listed as a priority species in the Local Biodiversity Action Plan. According to analysis in the ‘State of UK’s butterflies 2015’ report, the species has showed long-term declines in both occupied squares and abundance.
This training day is free but donations to the Butterfly Conservation Scotland would be most welcome. Places are limited so please click contact scotland@butterfly-conservation.org to book.
