Introduction to Wildlife Recording, Auchincruive

Ayr Rivers Trust, 1 Gibbs Yard, Auchincruive Estate, Ayr, KA6 5HW

Interested in wildlife recording but not sure where to start? Come along to one of Where Wildlife in Ayrshire Introduction Wildlife Recording courses!

This informal course will provide an introduction to the importance of wildlife recording and the use of species records in conservation. The course will cover what information is needed to record species, how and where to submit your records, and demonstrate how the information gathered is used to inform conservation and management decisions locally and nationally. We will venture out to gather some wildlife records and then introduce participants to online recording tools (such as iRecord), smartphone apps, spreadsheets and even pen and paper! We won’t focus on any particular species group, but will give you a general idea of how to make a record so that you can kick start your wildlife recording!

No previous wildlife recording experience necessary – just a keen interest in nature and an enjoyment of seeing and identifying the wildlife around you.

Full details and booking information is available at Eventbrite.
