Loch Skerrow and Loch Stroan
This field meeting is at Loch Skerrow and Loch Stroan, Galloway Forest Park. A relatively flat walk of several km on a long-disused rail line. Huge population of Moonwort discovered here in 2017 and again in 2018. Central part of VC.
Topic: Aquatics, disused railway, general recording.
Location: NX6470/6570 and NX6068
Meeting-place: 10 am at Loch Stroan (NX648700), approached along the FCS Raiders Road from Mossdale on the A762. There is a charge of £2 to use the Raiders Road.
Lunch and suitable outdoor gear needed. All are welcome.
